Mariah L. Richardson, assistant professor of mass communications at St. Louis Community College–Florissant Valley, will be honored during Metro Theater Company’s 2026 Jubilee Gala on May 19 at the theater.
Richardson will receive the St. Louis Champion for Theater for Young Audiences honor in recognition of her decades-long contributions as a playwright, director, and educator.
Her creative partnership with Metro Theater Company spans many years and reflects a shared commitment to high-quality theater for young audiences. Richardson has contributed two commissioned works: Delilah’s Wish (2009) and Bold, Brave, Curious! (2022).
