British actor Micheal Ward has been cleared of all charges following a trial in London. On Friday, July 10, a jury at Snaresbrook Crown Court returned a verdict of not guilty on two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
The charges, which related to a single complainant, stemmed from an alleged incident in January 2023. Ward had rigorously denied the allegations from the moment they were made public, maintaining complete confidence that his name would be fully cleared in court.
The trial focused on accusations regarding an encounter in the back of a vehicle following a night out at a London club. After reviewing the evidence presented by both the prosecution and the defense, the jury ultimately rejected the allegations, acquitting the 30-year-old actor of every count.
Ward had previously stated that he cooperated fully with the Metropolitan Police throughout their extensive investigation. With the unanimous non-guilty verdicts, the legal proceedings regarding the matter have officially concluded.
Ward, a BAFTA-winning performer, is widely recognized as one of the UK’s most prominent young acting talents. He captured global attention for his breakout role as Jamie in Netflix’s acclaimed crime drama series Top Boy.
