By Zoila Palma: Today, the Stann Creek Department of Agriculture, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and New Growth Industries (MAFSNGI), successfully conducted a Value-Added Beekeeping Products Training for members of the Maya Mopan Bee Cooperative.
The training was funded through the Climate Resilient and Sustainable Agriculture Project (CRESAP).
The training was designed to strengthen the capacity of beekeepers by introducing value-added processing techniques that enable participants to diversify their enterprises and maximize the economic potential of hive products.
CRESAP noted that by expanding beyond honey production, beekeepers can explore new market opportunities, increase the value of their products, and improve the sustainability of their operations.
