Minister’s cleaner fined $155 after after being busted with crack pipe

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City cleaner was fined on Friday after pleading guilty to possession of a pipe used for smoking crack cocaine.

Kareem Duane Young, 40, of Freetown Road, appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on a single charge of possession of a pipe.

Police alleged that Young was found on Mapp Street on Saturday, July 26, 2026, with a black pipe that had been used or adapted for smoking crack cocaine or another controlled drug.

Young, who told the court that he works as a cleaner for a government minister, admitted that the pipe belonged to him and that he used it to smoke crack cocaine.

He was fined $150, along with $5 in court costs. Young was given until August 31, 2026, to pay the total amount or serve two weeks in prison.
