Ministry of Immigration recognizes immigration officers at Philip Goldson International Airport for outstanding service

By Zoila Palma:  Today, the Ministry of Immigration, Governance and Labour recognized the dedication and professionalism of Immigration Officers stationed at the Philip Goldson International Airport.

The Ministry hosted an appreciation ceremony where Minister of Immigration, Governance and Labour Kareem Musa, and Director of the Department of Border Management and Immigration Services, Lawrence Thompson, presented awards to outstanding officers.

“As the first representatives of Belize that returning Belizeans and international visitors encounter upon arrival, professionalism and courteous service is vital,” the Ministry said.

Their work ethic ensures a welcoming experience while maintaining the integrity and security of Belize’s borders.

The officers recognized were:

Outstanding Contribution: Tricia Gillett, Immigration Clerk I

Best Attendance: Bobby Flowers, Immigration Assistant I

Most Improved Officer: Eladio Pop, Immigration Clerk II

Most Productive Officer (Arrival): Herman Martinez, Immigration Clerk I

Most Productive Officer (Departure): Triana Bennett, Immigration Clerk II

Minister Musa congratulated the award recipients for their dedication and encouraged all officers to continue delivering the high standard of service expected at Belize’s primary international gateway.

Director Thompson also commended the recipients for their professionalism and commitment, emphasizing that their work reflects the values and mission of the Department of Border Management and Immigration Services.

The Ministry extended congratulations to each award recipient and thanks all Immigration Officers at the Philip Goldson International Airport for their continued service to Belize and the travelling public.
