NAACP Joins Fight for Answers in Nolan Wells Case

(AURN News) — The NAACP is now directly involved in the search for answers surrounding the death of Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old Black teen whose body was found on Mississippi’s Horn Island in July after a Fourth of July boating trip with friends.

The NAACP’s Office of General Counsel confirmed it is joining attorney Ben Crump’s legal team, mounting a full-court press for truth and transparency.

NAACP General Counsel Kristen Clarke said the organization will work to ensure “that no stone is left unturned in seeking answers and accountability for Nolan’s family.”

This comes after an independent autopsy, revealed at the NAACP’s National Convention in Chicago, left both the cause and manner of Wells’ death listed as undetermined, a result his family says only deepens their need for answers.

The investigation continues.
