The Bankers Association of Saint Lucia Inc. has announced the appointment of Ron Leon as its new president, a role he will hold until December 31, 2027.
Leon, who is a senior official at Republic Bank (EC) Limited, assumes leadership of the Association with the support of a full executive team.
According to a press release from the St. Lucian Bankers Association, Leon brings more than 16 years of experience in the financial services sector with extensive expertise across retail banking, credit, compliance, regulation, enterprise risk management, and corporate governance. His professional background reflects a strong blend of strategic leadership, regulatory discipline, and operational execution.
During his tenure at Republic Bank (EC) Limited, Leon has held senior leadership responsibilities with oversight across seven territories: Anguilla, Dominica, St Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, St Maarten, and Grenada. His portfolio has included branch operations, regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, governance and service excellence. In this role, he has led transformative initiatives that enhanced regulatory confidence, strengthened governance frameworks and delivered measurable financial results.
