Our Favorite 2026 Met Gala Red Carpet Looks That Prove “Fashion Is Art”

It’s the first Monday of May, which means we couldn’t be more excited for our annual sit-on-the-couch-in-our-sweatpants-and-critique-celebrities’-Met-Gala-looks viewing parties. Held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to celebrate and fund the new 2026 Costume Art exhibit (with a big focus on various body types), celebrities and their designers first gather on the red carpet (this time a beige brick with grassy green pops) to show off their most extravagant fashion and beauty looks, post-awards season. And this year, the dress code is “Fashion is Art.” We were most excited to see 2026 co-chair Beyoncé make her return after one whole decade, alongside co-chairs Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams. In addition to the usual suspects like Gigi Hadid and Kim Kardashian, there’s a slew of new debuts like Heated Rivalry's Connor Storie and Olympian Alyssa Liu, plus several adorable predicted couple sightings. Click on to see the best-dressed celebrities on the Met Gala red carpet, and to decipher who should make it on our list of best Met Gala looks of all time. SZAPhoto: Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images.Janelle MonáePhoto: Michael Loccisano/Getty Images.LisaPhoto: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images.Rauw AlejandroPhoto: Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images.Emma ChamberlainPhoto: Lexie Moreland/Getty Images.Sabrina CarpenterPhoto: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images.BeyoncéTylaPaloma ElsesserPhoto: Mike Coppola/Getty Images.Jon BatistePhoto: Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images.Sinéad BurkePhoto: Gilbert Flores/Getty Images.Sabine Getty Photo: Mike Coppola/Getty Images.Serena WilliamsPhoto: Mike Coppola/Getty Images.Alysa LiuPhoto: Mike Coppola/Getty Images.JisooPhoto: Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images.Connor StoriePhoto: Mike Coppola/Getty Images.Audrey NunaPhoto: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images.Ashley GrahamPhoto: John Shearer/Getty Images.Chase InfinitiNaomi OsakaPhoto: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images.Nichapat SuphapPhoto: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images.Katy PerryPhoto: Gilbert Flores/Getty Images.Isha M.
