The KCB National Rally championship round four is due to take place from 24th to 25 July in Soroti and Katakwi.
This event is hosted by Eastern Motor club. It was officially launched on Tuesday, 21st July 2026 at the Copper Chimney Restaurant, Lugogo – Kampala.
Federation of Motorsports Clubs of Uganda (FMU) vice president Hajji Hamid Gombe, Reynolds Kibira (General Secretary), Monica Birwinyo (clerk of the course) and Kezi Kagoro (president of Eastern Motorclub) graced the press conference.

We appreciate National council of sport for the validation of FMU in category 2 of sports compliance. We accept the outcome and this shows that FMU has majorly complied with the law. Going to Katakwi is sign that the sport is widely spread across the country and the federation is committed to get the certificate.
Reynolds Kibira, General Secretary – Federation of Motorsports Clubs of Uganda (FMU)
The Vice President of the Federation Hajjii Gombe asked the travelers to be conscious about safety as they travel to the rally and back.
He tasked Subaru people to respect people road users as he officially handed event to Western Motor club.
Gombe lauded the political support from a number of leaders; Vice President H.E Jessica Alupo, Hon. Calvin Echodu, Hon. Peter Ogwang, Hon Moses Atta, Hajji Sadat Negomba and Captain Mike Mukula; among others.

Birwinyo, the clerk of the course admits that the setup will have a beautiful spectators’ stage where fans will be able to watch the speeding cars.
There will also be a tree planting exercise as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility.
The rally in Soroti and Katakwi follows the request by State Minister for Sports Hon. Peter Ogwang to have rally event in the region and the Vice President of the Republic of Uganda Her Excellency Jessica Alupo will be chief guest.
Prior to the fourth round of the 2026 KCB National Rally Championship (NRC), the title race is shaping up to be one of the closest in recent seasons.
The rally crew of Hassan Alwi and Musa Nsubuga leads the championship after a consistent opening three rounds.
Duncan Mubiru is seated second on the standing as Jonas Kansime is in third place overall coming to the North East event.

Eastern Motor Club (EMC)
Round Four is particularly significant because the championship moves to the Teso region for the first time, with drivers tackling new stages that could have a major impact on the standings.
New terrain often reduces the advantage of local knowledge, making consistency and reliability just as important as outright speed.
The earlier rounds have produced a tightly contested championship, with different crews scoring strongly enough to keep the battle open.

Motorsport observers expect:
Alwi to defend his championship lead through another consistent finish.
Mubiru to push for maximum points and potentially close the gap.
Kansime to capitalize on any mistakes from the top two to stay in the title hunt.
The 2026 season is the first under the KCB Bank Uganda title sponsorship, a partnership aimed at strengthening Uganda’s National Rally Championship through increased investment in drivers, events and the sport’s overall developments.
The scrutineering will take place on Thursday, 23rd July 2026.
The rally will cover a total distance of 289 Kilometers.
Sponsors:
There are a number of sponsors and stakeholders to include; KCB Bank, Shell V-Power, Voice of Teso, International University of East Africa (IUEA), Komodo Sports Wear, Steadfast Forwarders Limited, Kiss Condoms, Uganda Police, Across the Nile Resort, Government of Uganda, Segamu, among others.
