Saint Lucia’s tourism industry is picking up speed, with reports predicting more visitors at the 44th Caribbean Travel Marketplace in Antigua last week.
The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA), led by CEO Louis Lewis, joined 20 other accommodation and destination management groups. They met with international tour operators, wholesalers, travel advisors and media partners. The team signed new contracts, grew partnerships, and highlighted the island’s variety, strong flight connections, lively culture and new projects shaping Saint Lucia’s tourism.
“This year we received confirmation that Saint Lucia is trending positively, meaning that we are poised for increases in arrivals,” Lewis said. “This is the sort of news that we want to hear, especially in the context of all the global events that are impacting tourism at this point in time.”
According to Lewis, it was an opportunity for trade partners in Saint Lucia’s tourism industry to connect.
“They contract and conduct sales activities and engage with partners, cementing relationships and, of course, giving new updates on happenings in Saint Lucia,” he said.
Bay Gardens Resorts reported making important new connections with technology providers and partners interested in promoting Saint Lucia. Ti Kaye also used the event to announce its upcoming expansion.
The SLTA says these efforts are helping to build stronger relationships, attract more visitors and make Saint Lucia a top choice for Caribbean travel.
