WARRIRS forward Prince Dube is now one of the leading goal scorers in the Tanzanian top-flight league after hitting a brace for Young Africa, who won 6-0 against Mbeya City in a league match played on Thursday evening.
Nicknamed Mgadafi, Dube is now on eight goals and is a joint top goal scorer in the league with Namungo FC’s Fabrice Ngoye.
He opened his scoring account on Thursday in the 7th minute of the match, before completing his brace in the second half in the 83rd minute.
Young Africa is currently setting the pace in the Tanzanian league with 47 points, eight ahead of Azam FC, which is on 39.
Despite huge injury setbacks that have seen him missing out on action, the Zimbabwean forward has recorded one of the best conversion rates, as he has only played 13 league games.
Dube has been the most consistent striker for Zimbabwe in foreign lands, and Warriors coach Marian Marinica will be counting on him at the upcoming Unity Cup tournament to be played in the United Kingdom next month.
The former Highlanders striker missed the Warriors’ Four Nations Cup outing in Botswana last month due to an injury, which saw him being ruled out of the squad at the eleventh hour.
