*Authorities in Tennessee have charged racist livestreamer Dalton Eatherly, known online as “Chud the Builder,” following a courthouse shooting in Clarksville that resulted in a Black man being critically injured, New York Post reports.

Officials said the confrontation took place on Wednesday outside a courthouse where Eatherly was expected in court for a lawsuit tied to outstanding financial obligations. Prosecutors, including District Attorney Robert J. Nash, said the 28-year-old allegedly fired a weapon during a physical struggle and grazed his own arm in the process.

The injured man has been identified as 31-year-old Army vet Joshua Fox. He was transported by LifeFlight and remains in stable condition following emergency treatment. Eatherly was taken into custody at the scene after the incident unfolded.

Investigators said Eatherly later broadcast a livestream from the area and insisted he acted in self-defense. According to witnesses, the victim had approached him over content connected to his online activity.

During the livestream, Eatherly said, “He said, ‘You start saying all that chimp out s–t to me and ‘imma hit you,’ and he hit me, he started whaling on me.” He also claimed outside influence (specifically “rich people”) was encouraging violence against him, stating, “They’re all publicly saying ‘if y’all assault this guy, we’ll make you rich’. The f–k.”

Eatherly has built his online presence through confrontational livestreams featuring racist remarks directed at Black people, often intended to provoke reactions. He has multiple videos circulating online in which he refers to Black people as “chimps” and uses the N-word, while also threatening to shoot individuals if they respond with physical violence.

Authorities say he now faces charges including aggravated assault, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and using a firearm during a dangerous felony.

Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson commented on the courthouse shooting case, saying “this kind of violence won’t be tolerated, and our office will work to make sure those responsible are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

Per the Associated Press, Claire Martin, who works at a law office located across from the courthouse, described Eatherly as a familiar figure in the area known for provoking confrontations. She said he is “well known in Clarksville for antagonizing people to see what he can get them to do.” Martin also noted that he “yells racial slurs” at individuals while recording his interactions. “He’s not a contributing member of society,” she said.

Meanwhile, a Black content creator named Lily Venus has publicly alleged that she previously had a sexual relationship with Eatherly several years ago, describing it as involving intimate and recreational aspects including pegging, threesomes, and smoking weed.
