After several weeks of negotiations, Republic Bank EC Limited and the National Workers Union have finalised a new industrial agreement that provides wage increases, back pay, and enhanced benefits for more than 140 employees.
Clerical, IT, and technical employees will receive a 9.5% general wage increase over three years, distributed as 3%, 3%, and 3.5%. The agreement also includes more than one year of back pay.
The agreement, facilitated by the Labour Commissioner, introduces several enhanced benefits, including a $30 breakfast allowance, increased vehicle allowances, and a $1,400 uniform allowance for male employees and probationers. Business banking officers are now officially recognised as travelling officers.
The union and the company were scheduled to formally sign the new industrial agreement on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in the presence of Department of Labour officials.
