Seoul, South Korea Is the Ultimate Destination for Beauty, Wellness, and Food Lovers: Here’s Everything You Need to Experience

I’ve wanted to visit Seoul, South Korea for years, and let me tell you we hit the ground running.

From luxury skincare treatments and wellness clinics to unforgettable Korean BBQ, seafood feasts, rooftop cocktails, and cultural experiences, Seoul quickly became one of my favorite cities in Asia. If you’re planning your first trip, come prepared because there is so much to do that you’ll probably leave wishing you had booked a few extra days.

One thing I learned very quickly? Seoul is a city that rewards travelers who plan ahead. Between the incredible food scene, world-renowned skincare, and endless neighborhoods to explore, every day was packed from morning until night.

Getting Around Seoul: The Subway Is Your Best Friend

If there’s one piece of advice I can give before you land in Seoul, it’s this don’t expect to drive everywhere.Traffic during the day is no joke.

Many times, it was actually faster to hop on the subway than sit in traffic in a car. Thankfully, Seoul has one of the cleanest, safest, and quietest public transportation systems I’ve ever used. The subway stations are easy to navigate, trains arrive frequently, and you’ll immediately notice how respectful everyone is. People aren’t blasting music or talking loudly, making every ride surprisingly peaceful.

Now once the sun goes down, everything changes.

Traffic becomes significantly lighter, making Uber one of the easiest ways to get around the city at night. The rides were surprisingly affordable, the vehicles were clean, and every driver we had was professional. So during the day, take the subway. At night, Uber is definitely the move.

One thing to keep in mind is that many businesses in Seoul close earlier than you might expect depending on the neighborhood, so don’t assume everything stays open late. Planning your itinerary by area will save you a lot of time.

Haecheonobu Serves Some of the Best Seafood in Seoul

Let’s talk about the food because Seoul absolutely delivered. Our first seafood stop was Haecheonobu, and honestly, I don’t think we could have picked a better place to kick off the trip.

When I say we feasted, I mean we ordered enough food to make sure we experienced everything.

The lobster noodles were rich, buttery, and packed with flavor. Every bite tasted fresh, while the ramen soaked up all of the incredible seafood broth.

By the time we finished eating, we were completely stuffed, but not one bite was wasted.

If you’re a seafood lover, this restaurant deserves a spot at the top of your Seoul food list.

WooYukmi Is a Must for Steak Lovers

I know everyone talks about Korean BBQ when visiting Seoul, but if you’re craving premium steak, WooYukmi absolutely deserves your attention.

We ordered the T-bone, sirloin, and seafood noodles, and every single dish exceeded expectations.

The beef was beautifully marbled, incredibly tender, and cooked to perfection. You can immediately tell the quality of the meat is on another level.

The seafood noodles were the perfect complement to the richness of the steak, making the entire meal feel balanced rather than overwhelming.

If you’re someone who appreciates high quality beef, you’ll understand why this restaurant became one of my favorites.

Step Back Into the Prohibition Era at The Storage Room

One of my favorite things to do while traveling is find hidden cocktail bars, and The Storage Room quickly became one of my favorite speakeasies in Seoul.

The concept is inspired by America’s Prohibition era when alcohol was illegal and people had to secretly gather in underground bars.

From the moment you walk inside, the entire atmosphere transports you back in time.

The lighting, music, décor, and handcrafted cocktails all fit the theme perfectly.

And out of every bar we visited in Seoul, these were hands down my favorite drinks.

If you appreciate creative cocktails and unique experiences, don’t skip this hidden gem.

Support Black-Owned at Lit Lounge

Of course, I had to find some Black excellence while traveling abroad.

Lit Lounge is a Black American owned hookah lounge that instantly felt like home.

The hookah was smooth, the drinks were great, the food hit the spot, and the playlist stayed full of R&B, hip hop, and all the music we love.

The owner was incredibly welcoming, making the entire experience even better.

If you’re looking for a place where you can unwind after a long day of sightseeing, Lit Lounge is definitely worth checking out.

Make Your Own Jewelry at Banji Cafe

I’ve done a lot of unique experiences around the world, but making my own ring was definitely a first.

At Banji Cafe, you’re guided through the entire jewelry making process and leave with a custom ring that you actually made yourself.

It wasn’t just fun it became one of my favorite souvenirs from the trip because it carries a memory attached to it.

Instead of buying another keychain or magnet, I came home with something I created with my own hands.

A Korean Cooking Class Is Always Worth It

If you’ve followed me for a while, then you already know one thing about me I never leave a country without taking a cooking class. It’s become one of my favorite travel traditions.

This time we booked a class with Seoul Foodventure , and it included both a cooking lesson and a guided tour through Mangwon Market.

Walking through the market was almost just as fun as the cooking class itself.

There were endless food stalls, local snacks, fresh seafood, produce, desserts, and dishes I had never even seen before.

Honestly, I could have spent hours walking around trying different foods.

If you’re visiting Seoul, put Mangwon Market on your itinerary even if you don’t take a cooking class.

Trust me you’ll thank me later.

Rent a Hanbok and Visit Gyeongbokgung Palace

One experience you absolutely cannot skip is wearing a traditional Hanbok while visiting Seoul’s historic palaces.

I rented mine from Seohwa Hanbok, which is conveniently located directly across the street from Gyeongbokgung Palace.

The rental included accessories and the option to choose one of several traditional hairstyles, making the experience feel even more authentic.

Walking through the palace in traditional Korean attire made for some of my favorite photos from the trip and gave me a deeper appreciation for Korean history and culture.

Why I Really Came to Seoul: The Beauty and Wellness Experience

Let’s be honest, one of the biggest reasons I wanted to visit Seoul was for skincare and wellness.

South Korea has become the global leader in beauty innovation, and I wanted to experience it firsthand.

My Health Assessment at Yonghada Clinic

My wellness journey started at Yonghada Clinic, where I received a Detox & Diet consultation, Women’s Health Assessment, back cupping, and acupuncture.

The health assessment revealed exactly what I expected my stress levels were above normal, and the doctor explained that my body was out of balance.

After reviewing my results, they created a personalized nutrition plan, recommended supplements, and developed a two-month weight loss strategy specifically for me.

Then came the acupuncture and back cupping.

I am not exaggerating when I say my back has never felt that relaxed in my life.

The amount of tension they released was unbelievable.

Relax at A3 Spa Global

Right after my wellness treatments, I headed over to A3 Spa Global for a full-body massage.

Honestly, it was the perfect follow up.

The massage therapist somehow found every last knot and worked them all out.

It felt like the icing on the cake after acupuncture and cupping.

My Honest Experience With Rejuran

Next came my skincare treatments at Xenia Clinic.

I received the Deep Hydration & Glow Renewal package, which included Rejuran Skin Booster (2cc), Water Glow Injection (2.5cc), and LDM treatment.

Now let me tell y’all the truth.

Rejuran hurts.

Yes, they numb your face beforehand, but those injections are still painful.

I honestly can’t imagine doing this treatment without numbing cream.

For melanin-rich skin, results typically begin appearing over the next two to three weeks, so I’m excited to watch my skin continue improving.

I’m expecting that famous Korean glow everyone talks about and after surviving those injections, I definitely earned it.

Onda Body Contouring at Jiwoo Clinic

Since I’m also focused on improving my health and fitness, I decided to get Onda body contouring along with fat-dissolving injections at Jiwoo Clinic.

The Onda treatment targets fat cells using microwave technology, while the injections help break down stubborn fat.

Combined with my new nutrition plan from Yonghada Clinic, I’m hoping these treatments help jump-start my overall wellness journey.

Professional Teeth Whitening at Reve Dental Clinic

Before heading home, I also visited Reve Dental Clinic for professional teeth whitening.

One thing that really stood out was their process.

Before whitening my teeth, they performed a thorough deep cleaning and had me rinse with a numbing mouthwash.

And honestly?

American dental offices need to take notes.

That numbing rinse made the entire experience significantly more comfortable, and my whitening results were some of the best I’ve ever had.

Why Seoul Should Be on Every Traveler’s Bucket List

Seoul offers something for everyone.

Whether you’re a foodie searching for unforgettable restaurants, a beauty enthusiast wanting the latest Korean skincare treatments, a wellness traveler investing in your health, or someone who simply enjoys experiencing new cultures, Seoul has a way of exceeding expectations.

From premium seafood and unforgettable steak dinners to Black owned businesses, hidden speakeasies, cooking classes, traditional Hanboks, world-class skincare, and one of the most efficient subway systems in the world, Seoul gave me everything I hoped it would and then some.

Trust me, this won’t be my last trip to South Korea.
