The SIU Carbondale Alumni Association has named Sean Smith and Jennifer Polk to its board of directors.
Smith, who earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2000, is assistant principal at Thornridge High School in Dolton, Illinois. As a student, he served in undergraduate student government and led both the Black Affairs Council and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc..
Polk, a 2003 graduate of the College of Business and Analytics, is a managing vice president in Gartner’s Marketing and Communication Practice. She previously served as chief marketing and digital experience officer at Feeding America.
