Suzi Quatro Announces 2026 Australian Tour With Baby Animals

Suzi Quatro, the pioneering rock singer and bassist, will return to Australia in November and December for her Down Under 2026 tour, playing a run of headline shows alongside a series of Red Hot Summer Tour festival dates.

The headline run, with Baby Animals as special guests, takes in Rooty Hill’s Coliseum Theatre on Nov. 14, the Sydney Opera House on Nov. 15, Hobart’s Wrest Point Entertainment Centre on Nov. 18, The Star on the Gold Coast on Nov. 20, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Dec. 2 and Fremantle Prison on Dec. 6. Quatro will also headline four Red Hot Summer Tour outdoor shows across Brisbane, Lake Macquarie, Torquay and the Barossa Valley, sharing bills with Australian rock acts including Jon Stevens, Rose Tattoo, Dragon, Choirboys and the Screaming Jets, with lineups varying by state. General tickets go on sale Wednesday (Aug. 12) at 10 a.m. local time.

The tour continues a relationship with Australia that stretches back more than five decades. Born in Detroit in 1950, Quatro began performing as a teenager in the mid-1960s with the all-female band the Pleasure Seekers before producer Mickie Most brought her to England in 1971 to launch her as a solo artist.

Quatro’s commercial peak came in the glam-rock era of the early-to-mid 1970s. “Can the Can” topped the charts in the U.K., Australia and across Europe in 1973, and she followed it with international hits including “48 Crash,” “Daytona Demon” and “Devil Gate Drive.” While those songs made only modest inroads in the U.S. — “Can the Can” reached No. 56 on the Billboard Hot 100 upon a later American release — her stateside breakthrough came in 1979 with “Stumblin’ In,” a duet with Smokie’s Chris Norman that climbed to No. 4 on the Hot 100, becoming her biggest American hit. She has sold more than 55 million records across her career.

Beyond music, Quatro found a wide American audience through her recurring role as Leather Tuscadero on the sitcom Happy Days, and has since worked as an author, radio broadcaster and West End performer, starring in a London production of Annie Get Your Gun. Her career was chronicled in the 2019 documentary Suzi Q. Now 76 and still touring, she released her latest studio album, Freedom, in 2026.
