By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police are investigating a fatal road traffic accident that claimed the life of a 39-year-old woman near Bella Vista Village on Saturday afternoon.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:35 p.m. on July 25, 2026, along the Thomas Vincent Ramos Highway between Miles 44 and 45.
Initial investigations indicate that 26-year-old Daunte Oliver Eden Noralez, of a Belmopan address, was driving a Ford Escape toward Punta Gorda when he allegedly attempted to overtake a Lifan 150 motorcycle travelling in the same direction.
During the attempted overtaking maneuver, the vehicles collided, causing the motorcyclist, Tatiana Alvarado of Bella Vista Village, to sustain fatal injuries. Police arrived at the scene and found the motorcycle engulfed in flames.
Alvarado was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Noralez has been detained pending further investigation.
