Telfar Heads Back To Paris While Never (Really) Leaving Brooklyn

Telfar is heading back to Paris. The beloved Black-owned label will present its next runway show on October 6, the final day of Paris Fashion Week.

For us, Telfar has never been just another label. The Bushwick Birkin helped turn the brand into a fashion staple. The brand’s guerrilla, non-traditional marketing is unmatched, and its label stays in headlines in its own way.

Now Telfar is taking this energy back to Paris.

So far, details about the new collection are limited. But the announcement has our timelines jumping. The brand declared “Telfar Leaves New York For Paris Fashion Week”playing up the idea that it is packing up New York and taking the show overseas.

The Paris news comes just months after Telfar had everybody thinking the brand was “severely downsizing.” The fake-serious announcement turned out to be a rollout for its Baby Bag Charm, a tiny version of the Shopper that launched in July. Telfar played with headlines, had fans nervous for a minute and turned the whole thing into a product drop.

Speed up to now and Telfar’s Paris announcement has us once again looking twice.

Telfar Has Been To Paris Before

Telfar showed in Paris in September 2019, presenting his Spring 2020 collection at La Cigale. The show brought out names including Paloma Elsesser, Nina Chanel Abney and Mickalene Thomas.

And the cult-like label has continued finding different ways to bring people into its fashion world. For the brand’s 20th anniversary runway show in 2025, it launched New Models, a reality-style casting competition. An Instagram open call drew a line four to five blocks long, and viewers eventually voted on who would walk the show.

But everybody can’t make it to Paris.

So, Telfar is taking over Brooklyn the only way it can.

On October 6, fans can watch the Paris show live from 1 Hanson Place in Brooklyn. According to Telfar’s announcement, the event will include surprise guests, performances and a huge sample sale.

The sale alone may have the Telfar girls making plans. Denim and workwear are listed at $70, leather jackets at $100, leather pants at $85, circle bags at $75 and belts and hats at $25.

Paris gets Telfar on the fashion calendar. Brooklyn gets a party, a show and a chance to shop.
