2026 USSSA Boys’ football:

Semi-finals (Monday, 18th May)

Kyadondo SS Matugga Vs Bukedea Comprehensive South (11 AM) – Lira Town College playground
Amus College School Vs St Mary’s Kitende (11 AM) – Dr Obote College playground

From 64 schools, it is now down to just four schools at the 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Boys’ football in Lira city, Northern Uganda.

The four quarter final matches were successfully completed on Sunday, 17th May as well as most classification duels.

St Mary’s Kitende, Amus College School, Kyadondo S.S Matugga and Bukedea Comprehensive School South all progressed to the semi-finals due on Monday at Lira Town College and Town Obote College playgrounds.

Both semi-finals will be played concurrently at 11 am.

Kyadondo SS tussles against Bukedea Comprehensive South at the Lira Town College playground in the heart of Lira city.

7 KMs away, Amus College School will take on record winners St Mary’s Kitende at the Dr Obote College playground.

How the quarter finals unfolded:

A dominant one-sided 6-0 victory sealed the place for St Mary’s Kitende past a hapless NUMASA S.S side at the Dr Obote College playground.

Denis Kisiriko shone with a hat-trick with Isaac Ssekate, Claude Wakenge and Jordan Tugume each scoring a goal apiece past the NUMASA S.S goalkeeper John Fisher Lubega.

“We had a solid performance in the quarter final and I salute my fellow teammates. There is still unfinished business with the semi-final as we target the final” Collins Ochatre, captain of St Mary’s Kitende remarked.

NUMASA S.S head coach Tony Kintu Ssenabulya was disappointed by the result and performance on the day but was quick to hail the character of his players at the championship.

“We had a poor show against St Mary’s Kitende. Overall, I am satisfied for the progress of the team up to the quarterfinal for the first time ever” Ssenabulya hinted.

Earlier on, Amus College edged London College Nansana 1-0 courtesy of a goal by Mudasir Ijosiga at the Lira Town College playground.

Bukedea Comprehensive School South won 4-1 in post match penalties over Masaka S.S at the Dr Obote College playground 1 after a 1-all draw in normal time.

Ronald Ssali’s coached side took the lead through Simon Wanyama before Masaka S.S’s late-late equalizer through Isaac Kafuuma to push the game into extra-time.

During the penalties, Bukedea Comprehensive School South goalkeeper Tonny Katangalo saved two saves from Ali Ssemakula and Isaac Kitty.

Only Pius Ekusai scored for Masaka S.S.

Simon Wanyama, Musa Godi, Bob Jeriga and captain Patrick Ssenkusa were on target for Bukedea Comprehensive School South.

Kyadondo SS outwitted Buddo S.S 1-0 courtesy of a well taken penalty by Bashir Edema after goalkeeper Edrisa Waibi had fouled Joseph Jude Kakooza in the goal area.

All the semi-finalists are already assured of slots at the 2026 FEASSSA Games due in Morogoro city, Tanzania this August.

USSSA unveiled a new trophy that will be handed over to the champion in waiting on Tuesday, 19th May 2026.

The championship attracted as many as 64 schools from the different corners of the country.
