TWO suspects linked to the robbery and murder of Bulawayo businessman Tedious Rutanhira (52) have been shot dead in a gun exchange with police, while four others have been arrested.
Rutanhira was shot dead on September 14, 2026 in Bulawayo.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the development in a statement.
“Reference is made to the ZRP press statement regarding a case of robbery and murder in which a businessperson, Tedious Rutanhira (52) was shot dead on 14 September 2026 in Bulawayo,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
“The ZRP confirms a shoot-out incident involving the suspects linked to the case resulting in the death of Mehluli Ncube (45) alias Mamba as well as Muzi Richard Fambirai Moyo (45) and the subsequent arrest of Shelton Jubane (37), Charles Ndlovu (52), Prince Chisale and Clive Ncube (27).”
According to police, the suspects are linked to 10 cases of armed robbery in Bulawayo and surrounding areas.
Commissioner Nyathi said a detailed statement will be released on September 19, 2026.
