UDP marks 53 years since founding with special birthday celebration

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The United Democratic Party is celebrating its 53rd anniversary, marking more than five decades since its founding on September 27, 1973.

As part of the anniversary activities, the UDP is hosting a special birthday celebration on Fus Ting Dah Mawnin on Wave Radio and Television today, Friday, September 25.

The special broadcast, featuring Juliet and Joe, is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

According to the party’s promotional announcement, listeners and viewers will also have opportunities to win prizes and surprises during the programme.

The UDP is marking the anniversary under the message, “United & Strong! Together We Can.”

The party’s official 53rd anniversary falls on Sunday, September 27.

The anniversary comes at a time when the UDP continues to face public debate over its leadership and internal direction. Recent disagreements among prominent party figures have played out publicly, including discussions surrounding the future leadership of the party.

Despite those differences, the UDP’s anniversary message is focused on unity as the party marks another milestone in Belizean politics.
