Ya’axché Conservation Trust hosts honey harvesting training on World Bee Day

By Zoila Palma:  Today is being observed around the globe as World Bee Day.

World Bee day is being celebrated under the theme, “Bee Together for People and the Planet – A partnership that sustains us all”.

Ya’axché Conservation Trust is celebrating beekeepers of the Maya Golden Landscape. 

This week Ya’axché hosted a honey harvesting training for 9 local beekeepers at Ms. Arlene Chub’s apiary in Big Falls Village, Toledo.

Participants from Silver Creek, Big Falls, Golden Stream, and Trio Villages strengthened their knowledge and practical skills in safe harvesting techniques, equipment use, beekeeping best practices, and the importance of honeybees in agriculture and sustainable livelihood.
