A frontline aspirant for the Ogun State House of Assembly in Yewa North Isokan Constituency (I), Hon. Amb. Oladayo Aina has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 election, reaffirming his commitment to grassroots development and people-focused representation.

The declaration, which was held on Wednesday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Ayetoro, coincided with the commissioning of solar-powered borehole projects in selected communities across the local government.

Our correspondent who witnessed the declaration reports that the event witnessed a large turnout of party faithful, supporters, and well-wishers who thronged the venue in celebration, with songs and dances creating a lively atmosphere as they expressed support for Hon. Oladayo Aina.

The event also had in attendance the party leaders and stakeholders, including former Vice Chairman of Yewa North, Alhaja Safiat Adeyanju, former Vice Local Government Chairman, Olubokola Omoyayi, former Party Chairman, Hon. Kayode Abiola, former Secretary, Alhaji Jimoh Bello, former Majority Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Waheed Adeyori, former Councilor, Hon. Saheed, as well as ward chairmen and other party faithful.

Our correspondent also reports that the commissioning of the projects, located at Idofoi-Ile, Ayetoro, and Elebutu Village in Idofoi-Oko, are aimed at providing residents with access to clean and sustainable water supply, thereby improving their standard of living.

While speaking at the event, the APC Chairman in Yewa North Local Government, High Chief Gabriel Adekunle Adeosun, commended Ola Aina for his consistent philanthropic gestures and numerous empowerment initiatives he has done in the past.

Chief Adeosun described him as a capable aspirant.

“We have a brilliant aspirant. He has done many things in the past interms of empowerment and education support, go out and campaign your ambition to the people,” the chairman stated.

At Elebutu Village, one of the benefiting communities in the solar-powered borehole projects, the Baale, Chief Rasak Adio, expressed gratitude for the project, noting that it addressed a long-standing need of the people.

He observed that the community had not witnessed such intervention in the past and prayed for the success of Ola Aina’s 2027 ambition.

Chief Adio also appealed to party leaders to consider him as the APC flag bearer for the constituency.

On his parts, the Assembly Hopeful, Oladayo Aina, appreciated all the party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters at the event, saying that his declaration for House of Assembly seat was to continue his commitment to grassroots development.

Oladayo, the convener of the Ola Aina New Recovery Political Movement, explained that he’s committed to leading by example, showcasing impactful infrastructure projects, even before assuming public office.

He added that his approach to leadership and to contest the 2027 election is rooted in practical solutions that directly improve the lives of the people.

According to him “Our focus is on initiatives that benefit the grassroots, technology inclusion, empowerment programs, and basic infrastructure including clean water and solar-powered lighting, especially in areas where government presence has been limited,” he stated

Ola Aina revealed that his deep understanding of his constituency positions him to deliver meaningful results.

“Having grown up here, we understand the developmental gaps across Yewa North, particularly in roads, water supply, and economic opportunities. If given the mandate, I am determined to do things differently. driving real development and ensuring greater progress and prosperity for our people, ” Ola Aina concluded.
