Belize celebrates Supa G with star studded Living Legends concert

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizean music icon The General Supa G was honoured Wednesday night as the Living Legends Concert Series returned to Belize City with a major celebration of local music and culture.

The free concert was held at Lord Rhaburn Plaza and brought together an all star lineup of Belizean performers to pay tribute to Supa G and his contribution to the country’s music industry.

The lineup included Bernadette Gilharry, Brithney Starr, Chico Ramos, Hubee, Lloyd Augustine, Missy B, TR Shine, Sweet Pain Band, Punta Generals and the Martinez Brothers.

The event formed part of the Living Legends Concert Series, an initiative celebrating Belizean artists whose music and influence have helped shape the country’s cultural identity.

Supa G has become one of the recognizable names associated with Belizean music, particularly punta and the high energy sounds that have entertained audiences at home and abroad.

The celebration also comes during Belize’s September Celebrations, a month filled with events showcasing national pride, history, music and culture.

The concert was presented by the National Celebrations Commission, Institute of Creative Arts and the National Institute of Culture and History.

With free entrance and a lineup packed with Belizean talent, the evening placed the spotlight firmly on local music and the artists who have helped build its legacy.
