By Zoila Palma: Today, the Football Federation of Belize (FFB) announced that Belize’s rich football culture, proud history and promising future are in the spotlight in a new episode of Concacaf’s Federation in Focus docuseries, now available to audiences across the region and around the world.
FFB explained that the feature offers a cinematic look at the people, places and passion that shape the game on the country through the Football Federation of Belize, while highlighting the continued work being done to develop football at all levels, including among the next generation of players.
Produced by Concacaf, Federation in Focus is a regional docuseries that highlights the unique identity and football journeys of its 41 Member Associations. In this episode, viewers are taken inside the evolution of the sport through high-quality match footage, behind-the-scenes access, and exclusive interviews with key figures who have shaped the game locally. The visuals capture both the spirit of football and the culture of the nation.
“Through Federation in Focus, we are proud to showcase the incredible work being done by our Member Associations to grow the game at every level,” said Concacaf President Victor Montagliani. “The story of football in Belize is one of immense passion and resilience. This feature celebrates their unique journey and the ‘Football First’ philosophy that continues to drive progress across our region.”
The episode features conversations with FFB President Sergio Chuc, General Secretary Ian Jones and other key individuals contributing to sport. It also captures the essence of Belize’s local culture, filming at key locations such as the Xunantunich Mayan ruins, Guanacaste National Park and San Ignacio Market to provide a vibrant backdrop to the federation’s story.
“Being selected for Federation in Focus is a proud moment for our football family,” said President Chuc. “This feature gives us an opportunity to share our story with the region and the world, our challenges, our achievements, and most importantly, our unwavering passion for the game.
FFB expressed pride in how football in Belize continues to grow because of the dedication of players, coaches, clubs, volunteers, partners, and supporters who work tirelessly to move the sport forward.
FFB thanks CONCACAF for highlighting Belize and showcasing the beauty, culture, and resilience that define both our people and our football.
