The final season of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity is set to premiere in July 2026. Ahead of its release, an exclusive theatrical screening featuring the first three episodes will debut in U.S. theaters from June 25 to June 29, 2026, with both English subtitles and an English dub available. The special event will also include never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage and an exclusive interview with series creator Tite Kubo.

The concluding season promises an action-packed finale, adapting the final chapters of Kubo’s original manga. Bleach is a Japanese anime and graphic novel series produced by Studio Pierrot and directed by Noriyuki Abe. The original television series aired on TV Tokyo from October 2004 to March 2012, spanning 366 episodes. Due to its global popularity, the series began airing in the United States on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim in September 2006. Alongside titles like Naruto and One Piece, Bleach helped define and expand the shonen anime fandom in the U.S.

Production on the original anime was paused in 2012 when it caught up to the manga, leaving fans waiting nearly a decade for the adaptation of its final story arc. That long-awaited continuation eventually returned as Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, produced by Studio Pierrot under its PIERROT FILMS label and structured as a four-part adaptation. Parts 1 through 3 are currently available for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.

Part 1, The Blood Warfare, premiered in October 2022, depicting the Quincy invasion of Soul Society, the devastating defeat of the Gotei 13, and the return of Yhwach as the central antagonist. It also marked the awakening of Ichigo Kurosaki’s true powers and was voted Best Anime of Fall 2022 by over 48,000 voters on Anime Corner.

Part 2, The Separation, followed in Summer 2023, focusing on recovery, regrouping, and preparation for the final battle against the Wandenreich. Part 3, The Conflict, premiered on October 5 and delivered major battles and significant character developments, with additional anime-original material developed under Tite Kubo’s supervision.

Across its three parts, Thousand-Year Blood War has been both a critical and commercial success, earning a 9.0/10 IMDb rating and a 90 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It has also received recognition at the 2024–2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, including nominations for Best Action, Best Continuing Series, and Best Score.

Part 4 will bring the saga to its conclusion, with Kubo confirming in a livestream that the anime will further expand on key lore and introduce new material not shown in the original manga. He noted that viewers may encounter moments that feel entirely new, even to longtime fans.

Viz Media released the official trailer for Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity on May 19, 2026, where it quickly surpassed one million views and reached number 12 on YouTube’s trending movies chart. The trailer highlights intense battles, upgraded animation, and brief but notable glimpses of Yoruichi Shihōin and Kisuke Urahara in key roles during the final conflict.

Longtime fans have also been anticipating a long-awaited reveal involving Kisuke Urahara’s Bankai, which appears poised to finally be explored on screen. The trailer further teases a climactic confrontation between Ichigo Kurosaki and Yhwach, setting the stage for the emotional and high-stakes conclusion of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc.

The theatrical event, presented by VIZ Media and Fathom Events, will feature the first three episodes of Part 4 ahead of its streaming debut. Tickets for the U.S. premiere go on sale May 29, 2026, via Fathom Events, Fandango, Atom Tickets, and participating theater chains including AMC, Regal, and Cinepolis.
