Ald. Moore to host 10th District community bike ride on Wednesday

Alderwoman Sharlen Moore, in conjunction with the Department of Public Works, Wisconsin Bike Fed, Bublr Bikes and Washington Park Neighbors, will host a community bike ride on Wednesday, July 15, gathering at 4:30 p.m. at the Washington Bark Bandshell, 4599 W. Lloyd St. The bike ride will start at 5 p.m., and return to Washington Park by 6 p.m. for riders to enjoy music as part of Washington Park Wednesdays.

The bike ride is suitable for all ages and abilities, and will include brief stops to discuss area infrastructure projects. A full route can be viewed here. In need of a bike? A limited number of complementary Bublr e-bikes will be available. Reserve one in advance at tinyurl.com/WPWride.

“Wednesday’s community bike ride will be a fantastic opportunity to learn more about area projects, enjoy some light exercise, and spend time with fellow neighbors. I encourage community members to grab their bike, or utilize one of the free Bublr e-bikes, and join us for a ride,” said Ald. Moore.

At the conclusion of the ride, various vendors will be present at Washington Park Wednesday to share transportation resources, including: the Milwaukee County Department of Transportation, Milwaukee County Transit System, City of Milwaukee/Vision Zero, Dream Bikes, and the Wisconsin Bike Federation.
