Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to get star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are still going strong after over 33 years in the business.
Hip-hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 8 July.
This will be the 2,851st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Radio personality Big Boy will be the emcee for the event, with rapper Xzibit on hand to be the guest speaker.
“Receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a blessing beyond words. Coming from Cleveland, we never imagined that the music we created would touch so many lives around the world. This honour belongs not only to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, but to our families, our city, our fans, and everyone who believed in us from the beginning. More than three decades later, we’re still here, still creating, and still carrying the legacy forward. We thank the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for this incredible recognition and dedicate this star to the generations who continue to keep our music alive,” they said upon hearing the news.
The Cleveland, Ohio natives, Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, and Flesh-n-Bone, came together in 1991. Their breakout album Creepin on ah Come Up came out in June 1994, catapulting the group to hip-hop stardom.
Their hit single Crossroads spent eight weeks at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won a Grammy Award. It was a tribute to Eazy-E after his death in 1995. Eazy-E discovered the group from the first album, Faces of Death, which was released independently in May 1993.
They have 11 studio albums, two EPs, four official compilation albums, and a number of collaborations under their belt.
Their unique rapid-fire rap and storytelling style put them in a league of their own and drew many fans who are still coming out to watch them perform. After over 33 years in the music industry, the group is still touring, with upcoming performances scheduled from July to October.
