Saint Lucian products, culture and entrepreneurship are gaining an even stronger foothold in the United States following the official opening of a new Taste of Saint Lucia nook at Aunts et Uncles Restaurant in Brooklyn, New York.

The latest initiative by Export Saint Lucia provides another international platform for locally made products, showcasing the island’s creativity, craftsmanship and authentic flavours while creating new opportunities for Saint Lucian businesses to reach overseas consumers.

Located at 1407 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn, the new space is expected to serve as a hub where members of the Saint Lucian diaspora, as well as international visitors, can experience the island through its food products, artisan goods and locally crafted items.

The opening was made possible through a partnership between Export Saint Lucia and Aunts et Uncles Restaurant, with support from Saint Lucia’s Consul General in New York, Jeremiah Hyacinth.

Export Saint Lucia expressed appreciation to the restaurant for providing a permanent home for authentic Saint Lucian products abroad, while also acknowledging Consul General Hyacinth for his continued support and guidance throughout the initiative.

The agency also recognized the contributions of its artisans, creatives, entrepreneurs, producers and staff, whose efforts continue to strengthen Saint Lucia’s export sector and expand the country’s international presence.

Chief Executive Officer of Export Saint Lucia, Sunita Daniel, described the opening as another milestone in the agency’s mission to create sustainable export opportunities for local businesses.

“This is far more than a retail display, it is a gateway for Saint Lucian entrepreneurs to access international markets, tell their stories and build globally recognized brands. Every product on these shelves represents the innovation, resilience and excellence of our people.”

Daniel said the initiative aligns with Export Saint Lucia’s broader vision of positioning the island’s products in key overseas markets while strengthening economic opportunities for local producers.

She added that the agency remains committed to expanding the Taste of Saint Lucia brand beyond New York.

“Our vision is to ensure that wherever there is a demand for authentic Caribbean products, there is a place for Saint Lucia. We are building lasting partnerships that create new markets, increase exports and empower our entrepreneurs to compete confidently on the global stage.”

The Taste of Saint Lucia initiative forms part of Export Saint Lucia’s ongoing efforts to promote locally manufactured products internationally while supporting small and medium-sized enterprises through market access, branding and export development.

With the opening of the Brooklyn location, Export Saint Lucia says it will continue introducing the island to the world, one exceptional product, one remarkable story and one new destination at a time.
