The Port Nimara superyacht marina development reached a major milestone over the weekend with the arrival and installation of concrete pontoons.
According to a government Facebook post, a mother vessel arrived offshore carrying the structures for the marina slips, which will accommodate vessels up to 240 feet.
They were offloaded at sea before being floated through the newly dredged channel, which has created a direct access between the marina and the open ocean.
The operation was supported by Anguillian vessels and crews, with the government highlighting the role of local participation and employment during the installation process.

Planning minister Kyle Hodge was present on site for the operation alongside permanent secretary Larry Franklin and tourism minister Cardigan Connor.
“This milestone represents continued progress in delivering a modern marina facility that will strengthen Anguilla’s maritime infrastructure and support long-term economic growth,” the post said.
Anguilla’s first superyacht marina is under construction in a former section of Gull Pond between Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel on Maunday’s Bay, and Altamer on Shoal Bay West.
It will include 118 berths, ranging from 40 to 240 feet, and the developers have partnered with US hospitality brand Equinox Hotels to deliver a 62-room luxury resort at the site.

Equinox Resort Anguilla Port Nimara will include 18 oceanfront villas, 18 upland villas and 35 Equinox resort residences, as well as an Equinox Club featuring dining, a spa and luxury retail.
Port Nimara is being developed by South West Harbour Inc – a joint venture of SF Investments Ltd, Time Equities Inc, and Anguilla-based developer Antillean Developments Inc.
The ground was broken at the Port Nimara site in 2023 and developers announced that excavation work had begun at the beginning of 2025.
The multi-million-dollar marina is scheduled to welcome its first vessels in 2027, while the Equinox Resort Anguilla Port Nimara will welcome its first guests in 2029.
