Dine 909: El Pollo Loco is testing 3 new items in the Inland Empire
A crispy chicken sandwich, tenders and barbecue chicken meals can be found at certain locations.
El Pollo Loco is testing chicken sandwiches, tenders and barbecue chicken meals at several Inland Empire locations.
The crispy grilled chicken sandwich is available a la carte or in a combo.
The sandwich is described as “a breaded chicken breast filet, grilled to crispy perfection, topped with our new Pollo Loco Sauce, house slaw and served on a toasted bun.”
The sandwich feels a little pricey at $7.49, but the combo, which includes chips, salsa and a regular drink, seems a better deal at $10.29.
The chain previously had chicken sandwiches on its menu back in 2010.
The honey chipotle barbecue chicken meals consist of two pieces of grilled chicken tossed in honey chipotle barbecue sauce, along with coleslaw, new barbecue black beans and two King’s Hawaiian rolls.
A leg and thigh meal is $12.29 without a regular drink and $14.59 with. A breast and wing meal costs $14.29 without a drink and $16.59 with.
The Loco tenders are available in spicy and classic versions and are served with Pollo Loco Sauce, Baja lime sauce or ranch for dipping.
Two tenders are $5.99. Three tenders are $8.49 a la carte or $11.29 in a combo with chips, salsa and a regular drink. Four tenders are $10.99 a la carte or $13.79 for a combo.
The test items are available for a limited time.

If you want to purchase Dragon’s Tale Brewery, now is the time.
The brewery’s owners are retiring and the countdown has begun to their retirement.
Everything is for sale, including the Montclair brewery itself.
So if you’ve ever wanted to own a brewery, make an offer.
If you’re a brewer in need of a gas brewing system, kegs, plastic fermenters, glassware, jockey boxes, a canning machine, grain, hops — whatever — you might want to stop and see if there’s something you could use.
If you just want to enjoy a pint, the tasting room will remain open until the kegs are drained.
Cans to go will also be available.
The shutdown is expected to take place over the next several weeks.
Dragon’s Tale Brewery is at 8920 Vernon Ave., Unit 122, Montclair.
