By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 40 year old construction worker of San Lazaro Village has been charged with damage to property after a vehicle windshield was smashed with a metal pipe.
According to the report, a 26 year old oil technician of Trinidad Village was driving his green Ford Ranger into San Lazaro Village around 5:30pm on Sunday when he noticed a man standing on the right hand side of the road holding a white metal pipe roughly three feet long with both hands.
As he passed, the man moved close to the vehicle and struck the windshield, breaking it.
The complainant said he heard a bang and felt pieces of glass hit him across his body, along with his common law wife and his son who were in the vehicle.
He drove about 15 metres forward, parked and got out to look for the man, but he was gone.
Scenes of Crime processed and photographed the vehicle.
Guadalupe Garcia was detained the same day and formally charged on Monday. He was cautioned and chose to remain silent.
The complainant later provided an estimate from a professional mechanic valuing the damage at $520.
