Badru Kaddu makes a return to face his ex-pay masters Express on Tuesday in a battle of familiarity.
The visitors, in good form after losing none of the last 16 matches in all competitions face a determined side in Red Eagles who have turned their season around.
The hosts are now on a three-match winning streak, the longest they have enjoyed this season with only one defeat in five; 3-0 versus KCCA.
Besides Kaddu, ex-Red Eagles Richard Basangwa, Muhammad Ssenoga, Rashid Kawawa, Hakim Wandera and Ramsey Kawooya are all in line to turn guns against their former team.
A win for NEC could propel them to 5th position if Entebbe UPPC falter in their clash at home with KCCA in one of the six fixtures on card.
For Express, a win will lift them into 8th position in case BUL and Maroons falter in their respective ties at home to UPDF and away to Mbarara City respectively.
Elsewhere on Tuesday, champions and table leaders Vipers travel to Buhimba United Saints while URA are away to Police at Kamwokya.
