Firearm and drug possession among charges laid in Anguilla this week

Four people have been charged in Anguilla this week in connection with a series of separate incidents, including one related to gun possession and another involving drugs.

Vaughn Gumbs, 51, of South Hill was charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition in connection with an incident on 2 May in George Hill.

He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on 5 May where bail was set at EC$80,000, with conditions including surrendering his passport, keeping the peace and not leaving the island.

In a separate matter, Deron Harrigan, 20, of Island Harbour was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply arising from an incident on 4 May in Island Harbour.

He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on 5 May where he was granted $60,000 bail, with conditions also including surrendering his passport, keeping the peace and not leaving the island.

On 29 April, two people were charged with separate offences in connection with the same incident that took place on 27 April in The Quarter.

Wilqui Woolard Munoz, 26, of The Farrington appeared before the Magistrate’s Court where he was charged with unlawful assault and remanded to His Majesty’s Prison pending further proceedings.

Meanwhile, Julieta De La Cruz, 50, also of The Farrington was charged with wilful obstruction and resisting arrest and granted $5,000 bail.
