Semi-final 1st Leg:
- Kampala University 0-0 YMCA Comprehensive Institute
There is a lot to play for prior to the return leg of the semi-finals in the 2025/26 Pepsi University Football League (UFL) between Kampala University and YMCA Comprehensive Institute.
The first leg played at the FUFA Kadiba stadium ended goalless on Tuesday, 7th April 2026.

The hosts had an impressive start as when play-maker Gideon Nsubuga shot from distance as early as the opening two minutes amid deafening cheers from the crowd.
Moments later, stylish forward Mark Ebong also had a shot on target. The raids to the YMCA Comprehensive goal area continued when James Epaja delivered a cross from the right but towering defender Jude Asiku cleared the ball to safety.
The visitors’ first attempt towards the opposition arrived in the 8th minute when Denis Echulu executed over a free-kick following a foul on Ashraf Lugya.
YMCA defender Asiku made a timely interception off a cross from Gideon Nsubuga on the right flank after 20 minutes.

On the break, YMCA’s flying left back Jordan Mutebi had a cross that flew over the goal.
Towards the half hour mark, Ebong’s shot on the edge of the goal area was blocked by a forest of legs from the YMCA defenders.
Ebong teased goalkeeper Kevin Senabulya with a chip but the shot stopper was fully alert to thwart the danger.
YMCA’s defender Ochulu got cautioned by referee Stephen Masiya Kimayo for blocking the path of the left footer Raymond Kiwewa as the first half ended goal-less.

Upon resumption of the second stanza; Kampala University called for a change; Ebong was rested for the fresh legs of Joseph Kimera.
Epaja’s cross from the left failed to have any contact from a Kampala University player in the 52nd minute.
YMCA raided towards the hour mark when right back and team skipper Ratib Ramadhan floated a long ball but Kampala University goalkeeper David Wafula easily picked up the ball.
KU’s Gideon Nsubuga hit the defensive wall with a drilled free kick on 62 minutes before YMCA player John Kisekka shot way off target.
As the game grew under twenty minutes left on the clock; there was tension, high intensity and anxiety.

Kampala University’s David Okema executed a wonder defense splitter but Epaja was got in an off-side position.
Kisekka (YMCA Comprehensive Institute) was cautioned for a foul in the 77th minute.
Kiweewa shot from distance on the right flank but YMCA goalkeeper Ssenabulya was well positioned to collect the ball as the hosts sought for a break-through.
On the opposite end; Kampala University goalkeeper Wafula saved off Farouk Wasswa’s shot in the 84th minute.

The game nearly turned nasty and ugly when KU forward Wanume collided with defender Asiku and the two players needed urgent evacuation to the nearby dispensary for medical attention.
The ten added minutes still produced no goal as the contest ended goal-less when referee Kimayo, returning after an appendix operation blew for full-time.
The return leg will be played next week at the Buwambo playground with a berth for the final at stake.
The other semi-final has Muteesa 1 Royal University against St Lawrence University.
