National Unity Democratic Organisation parliamentarian Vetaruhe Kandorozu has apologised for what was termed unparliamentary conduct towards minister of education, innovation, youth, sport, arts, and culture Sanet Steenkamp.
Kandorozu made the apology on his social media page on Wednesday.
This follows Kandorozu’s utterance in parliament last week, where he remarked: “Namibians don’t look like that.”
The remark angered Steenkamp, who confronted him in a heated exchange and asked him, “How dare you?”
“I have officially apologised to this beautiful and smart woman of stature within the Namibian political and educational fraternity and a formidable teacher. She is my in-law and the discussion was not intended for her at all. I really apologise for the pain I caused during the debate in the house. Let’s move on, juffrou. I love you. I will join your ||Kharas region during the Nedbank Namibian Newspaper Cup tournament on the 3-6 April,” his post reads.
