Kitara desperate to arrest slump at Lugazi

After failing to pick maximum points in each of their last three matches, Kitara have no option but beat Lugazi at Najjembe if they are to maintain fading title charge.

The Royals are now seven points behind Vipers who lead the table after losing to KCCA and drawing away to Vipers and at home to Calvary.

With 48 points, they will move within four points of the table leaders with victory for at least the next 24 hours as the Venoms are not in action until Sunday when they host stubborn Entebbe UPPC at Kitende.

On the other hand, Lugazi, fighting to stay in the top tier are also desperate to end a six-match winless streak in order to enhance survival chances.

In that run, they have lost four and drawn twice and defeat to Kitara will leave them still entangled in the relegation dogfight.

On 20 points in position no. 13 on the table, they are only five points above the team topping the relegation log.

Elsewhere, fellow title hopefuls SC Villa host minnows Buhimba United Saints at Kadiba under floodlights, KCCA are away to Calvary in Yumbe while Police travel to Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku to face Maroons.
