By Zoila Palma: Today, Maria Arthurs was officially sworn in before Dame Froyla Tzalam, Governor-General of Belize, as Contractor General for a three-year term.
As Contractor General, Arthurs is responsible for monitoring the award and implementation of public contracts to help ensure that government projects and procurements are carried out impartially, on merit, and in accordance with the law.
The Contractor General office plays an important role in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance in the management of public resources.
