Namibia’s swimmers continued to shine with a podium finish and multiple top-8 results on Day 3 of the 17th African Swimming Championships in Oran, Algeria.
Roselinda Matyayi claimed bronze in the Girls’ 50m backstroke (14–18 years) with a time of 28.95, earning her second medal for the competition and third medal for Namibia for the championships.
Luke Beukes delivered a strong race in the Boys’ 100m butterfly (14–18 years), finishing 4th overall in 56.48 seconds.
Lorenzo Esterhuizen impressed in the Boys’ 200m backstroke (14–18 years), securing 4th place with a time of 2:09.43.
Victoria De Sousa continued her consistent campaign, finishing 8th in the Girls’ 400m freestyle (14–18 years) with 4:40.77.
Nathan Bock added depth in the butterfly, placing 8th in the Boys’ 100m butterfly (14–18 years).
Jose Canjulo represented Namibia strongly in the Men’s 100m butterfly (19+ years), finishing 6th overall in 55.37 seconds.
Molina Smalley secured another senior finals appearance, finishing 7th in the Women’s 200m breaststroke (19+ years) with 2:48.79.
Day 3 brought Namibia a bronze medal, six individual finalists, and two near-podium finishes. With strong performances across age groups, Namibia continues to build momentum at the African Championships and looks forward to further achievements in the days ahead.
