Ministry of Education breaks ground for new STEAM pavilion at Toledo Community College

By Zoila Palma:  On June 16, 2026, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology officially broke ground for the STEAM Pavilion Project at Toledo Community College in the Toledo District.

This transformative investment, funded through the partnership of the Government of Belize and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and implemented by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, will provide nearly 800 secondary students with access to modern, world-class learning facilities dedicated to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).

The Ministry says that the state-of-the-art pavilion will foster innovation, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving, equipping Belize’s future leaders with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly dynamic and technology-driven world.

“We are INVESTING in infrastructure that will empower the next generation and strengthen Belize’s path toward sustainable growth and development,” the Ministry said.
