Maputo (MOZTIMES) - Mozambican President Daniel Chapo on Thursday strengthened the country’s position as a regional leader in maritime governance with the inauguration and handover of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Regional Fisheries Monitoring, Control and Surveillance Coordination Centre.
This is a facility expected to bolster the fight against illegal fishing and support the sustainable growth of the blue economy across Southern Africa. It is located in the Maputo city municipal district of KaTembe, on the Bay of Maputo, opposite the city centre.
