President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and Cabo Verde’s interim president, Janira Almada, have agreed to urgently address pending bilateral agreements between the two countries.
Nandi-Ndaitwah held a working meeting with Almada in Cabo Verde during a technical stop-over following her participation in the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
“The talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between Namibia and Cabo Verde,” reads a Presidency statement issued on Sunday.
The statement says the two leaders agreed that discussions on outstanding bilateral agreements should be held urgently, while also identifying areas for further cooperation.
They reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to deepening their relations and advancing shared priorities.
The Presidency says the discussions centred on matters of mutual interest and efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
No details were provided on the specific bilateral agreements that remain pending or the areas of cooperation to be prioritised.
