Police say the Quick Response Team was conducting mobile patrol in the Cayo District around 5:55pm on Thursday, August 6, when officers noticed a woman riding a black motorcycle without a helmet.

The patrol turned on its revolving lights to signal her to stop and she complied.

When asked for her driver’s licence, she told officers she did not have one.

She was informed of the offences committed, cautioned, placed under arrest and escorted to the Roaring Creek Police Station, where she was detained pending charges.

Alexsandra Yliana Escobar was served with a summons to a defendant upon information or complaint. She is to answer charges of use of a motor vehicle not covered by third party risk insurance, use of an unlicensed motor vehicle, and driving a motor vehicle without being the holder of a valid Belize driver’s licence.

She was due in court on Thursday, August 20 at 9am.
