Police say postmortem confirms homicide in Vieux Fort death

Police are treating the discovery of a decomposed body in Vieux Fort as a homicide after a post-mortem examination determined that the victim died from blunt force trauma to the head.

The deceased has since been identified as 66-year-old Norbert Crick of Doe Camel, La Resource. 

According to the head of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force’s Southern Division, Superintendent Stephen Victorin, a postmortem revealed the cause of death to be “traumatic brain injury due to multiple skull fractures as a consequence of blunt force trauma”. The examination was conducted yesterday.

Police have confirmed that one person is in custody in connection with the incident. The case has been recorded as the second homicide of the year.
