Quiz Night for Home-Start Lambeth at Effra Social, Monday 20th April 2026

Home-Start Lambeth returns to Effra Social for another community quiz night this April, raising funds for its work supporting families across the borough. Organisers promise friendly rounds, prizes and plenty of Brixton spirit – bring a team or join one on the night.

Home-Start Lambeth supports parents with babies and children under five through trained volunteers, offering practical and emotional help when extra pressures – illness, isolation or financial struggles – make parenting tougher. The local scheme has been active since 1998 and is part of the national Home-Start network, which focuses on the crucial early years of a child’s development.

One parent supported by the charity said:

“Volunteer support was life changing. I feel like my life is really different today than when I first started with you guys. I never felt judged or ashamed of where I was at.”
