By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 21 year old sales clerk of Marlin Street, Trial Farm Village has reported being assaulted at his workplace.
According to the report, the man was working upstairs at a store around 5:30pm on Wednesday when a man he knew approached him and touched him on the left side of his stomach.
He told the man to stop and said he does not play like that. The man then grabbed him from behind, squeezed him tightly, picked him up and dragged him toward the bodega.
The complainant said he struggled to free himself while the man called out to others nearby to look at him struggling. He told police he could smell a strong aroma of alcohol on the man’s breath.
He was then released and thrown into boxes of hangers, injuring his back.
He got up and punched the man, and a fight broke out before someone nearby intervened and separated them.
The complainant said the man remarked that if they had not intervened, he could have knocked him down.
His injuries were certified as harm at the Northern Regional Hospital.
One man is wanted in connection with the matter.
