San Bernardino residents invited to apply for Love Your Block mini grants

San Bernardino residents, community groups and local organizations are invited to apply for the city’s 2026 Love Your Block mini grant program.

This year’s theme, “Inspired by Route 66. Powered by Community,” focuses on revitalizing neighborhoods through the lens of the city’s Mother Road history.

The program provides funding for community-driven projects that enhance public spaces, foster neighborhood pride and celebrate the cultural identity of San Bernardino, according to a news release.

While projects do not need to be directly on the historic highway, they should reflect the spirit, history or identity of Route 66.

Applications are open through March 31. They will be reviewed April 1-10, and winners will be announced April 22, according to the news release. Project completion deadline is Aug. 31.

The primary focus for this year’s Love Your Block program is the area that is west of I-215, south of Highland Avenue, north of Fifth Street and east of Medical Center Drive, according to the news release.

Projects outside that area may still be considered if they demonstrate a strong, meaningful connection to Route 66, according to the news release.

For those who need assistance developing their proposals, the Love Your Block Team is available for consultations via email at loveyourblock@sbcity.org or by calling 909-998-2370.
