New girls’ champions will be crowned in Under-19 schools’ volleyball, while the defending boys’ champions aim for a repeat, as finals take place Tuesday, March 24, at Beausejour Gymnasium. The semifinals were held on Friday at the same venue. Sir Arthur Lewis Community College reached both finals: the boys face St Mary’s College, and the girls play Micoud Secondary.

The SALCC girls avenged last year’s defeat to title holders St Joseph’s Convent in Friday’s semifinals. This time, despite a strong SJC comeback in the second set, SALCC secured a 2:1 win (26-28, 25-11, 19-21). In the other semifinal, Micoud rallied to beat Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary 2:1 (25-13, 19-25, 22-24).
For the boys, SALCC reached the final by sweeping Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary 2:0, 25-23, 25-23. SMC advanced, beating Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary 2:0, 25-16, 25-19.

Tuesday’s girls’ third-place match features SJC and VFCSS at 10 am, followed by the SALCC vs Micoud final at 11:30. LHCSS and SCSS compete for boys’ third at 1 pm, with the boys’ final, SALCC versus SMC, at 2:30 pm.
