Los Angeles singer d4vd — real name David Burke — has been arrested in connection with the murder of Celeste Rivas, the teen whose body was found in his abandoned Tesla last September, according to NBC4 Investigates.
LAPD said the 21-year-old is being held without bail, and the case is expected to be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Monday.
Police launched a homicide investigation after a decomposed, dismembered body was discovered in the front trunk of Burke’s Tesla, which had been left in the Hollywood Hills and later towed to an impound lot. Workers reported a foul odor coming from the vehicle; officers found the remains wrapped in a bag. The car was registered to Burke, who was 20 at the time.
The body was later identified as Rivas. Her mother told TMZ that her daughter had been missing for more than a year — and that she had a boyfriend named David.
