The Most Exciting New Resort in Saint Lucia Just Opened on Reduit Beach, With Butlers, Luxury Villas, and Plunge Pools 

Saint Lucia is most famous for its Pitons, for its chocolate, for its romance, and for its stunning natural beauty. When ti comes to beaches, though, one stands above the rest: Reduit Beach. 

It’s a long stretch of perfect golden send on the west coast of the island, close to the island’s energy hub in Rodney Bay. 

And now it has a new flagship resort: Sapphires Sands Villas by Bay Gardens Resorts. 

The most exciting new resort in Saint Lucia and the wider Caribbean this year opened its doors on Reddit Beach this past week, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

A Major Addition to Saint Lucia 

In a nod to what is the fastest-growing trend in luxury travel, Sapphire Sands is a villa resort, with a collection of one, two, and three-bedroom villas right on Reduit Beach. 

It’s a sleekly-designed resort, with an interesting layout: nine villas, which consist of 27 total keys — that means a widely-customizable range of configurations that also includes one, two and three-bedrooms options — but also very amenable to groups and families. The latter is a particularly unique option on an island that has far more adults-focused resorts than family-friendly properties. 

And yes, every room has an ocean-view balcony, while certain first-level rooms come with their own private plunge pools. 

In other words, there really isn’t really a resort like this in Saint Lucia — one that just so happens to be on the best beach on the island, too. 

Bay Gardens Resorts Executive Director Sanovnik Destang told me the opening was the “next step in the evolution of luxury hospitality for both our company and Saint Lucia.”

“It reflects our belief that true luxury is deeply personal, rooted in exceptional service and a genuine sense of place. Our goal was never simply to build another luxury hotel,” he said. “It was to create an experience that feels unmistakably Saint Lucian while setting a new benchmark for contemporary Caribbean hospitality. Welcoming our first guests is a proud moment for our entire team.”

All Access

Because it’s part of the Bay Gardens portfolio, Sapphire Sands gives you complimentary access to four other resorts, meaning you can try eateries all over the area, along with those properties’ pools and daily entertainment. 

You can also use the Bay Gardens Beach Club, which has the island’s signature floating water park and a kids club. 

The Butlers

This might be the biggest amenity here: specially-trained butlers (more on that here https://www.caribjournal.com/2025/11/26/saint-lucia-sapphire-sands-new-luxury-resort/), who will cater to your every request, or, as the property calls them, high-touch demands. That means a range of asks, whether it’s customizing your vacation before you arrive or making all your appointments during your stay, all just a call away. 

The Food 

The main restaurant is a new spot called Kimchi & Kalaloo, which blends Caribbean and Asian flavors, including Korean Barbecue — but, as with all Bay Gardens resorts, the point is to actively encourage you to get out and explore the tastes and culinary outposts of Rodney Bay. 

In what was the first of its kind when it debuted, Bay Gardens also has a unique all-inclusive option that you can extend to your stay at Sapphire Sands; the best part? It has a “dine-around” option that actually lets you head to off-property local eateries and dine there as part of your package. A very cool idea indeed, one that gives you nine different restaurants to choose from. Bay Gardens pioneered this idea a decade ago, and it’s inspired a number of other hotels around the region, too.

The Takeaway

What I’ve always loved about Bay Gardens is that when you stay at one of their properties, you’re really staying in Saint Lucia. This is a locally-owned resort with a family tradition stretching back decades, and one that puts the authentic island experience at the forefront. You’re not getting anything cookie-cutter here — you’re getting the real deal. 

What It Costs

If you’re looking at a one-bedroom beachfront suite with a king bed, I found rooms at $692.75 right now. For a two-bedroom beachfront suite, the rate is about $1,147.50 right now. 

My favorite amenity is the option for private pools. In a very welcome touch, you can even get one-bedroom suites with their own pools. Those will run you about $756.50 for a king, and $777.75 for a double.
